How to deactivate MTN, Airtel, Glo, Etisalat Nigeria mobile data subscription

It is estimated that over 60 million Nigerians use their mobile phones to browse the Internet monthly. Out of this number, a substantial amount of people use data plans for their day-to-day Internet activities.

But somehow, you can get stuck trying to subscribe to a new data plan when you have exhausted the MB (data cap) of your active subscription.

To be able to subscribe to a  purchase a new data plan after you have reached your data limit without having your subscription expired, you have to deactivate your current plan and here is how to:

For Airtel, Text stop to 140
Etisalat Dial *229*0# or text stop to 229
Glo Text cancel to 127
MTN Text reset to 131

With the above, you can now cancel your mobile data package so you can purchase a new bundle.

It appears that reset to 131 is no longer working. To cancel your MTN subscription text:

EXPIRE to 21600.
